Raise for office workers from 1.5.2016
27.04.2016. The federation of Special Service and Clerical Employees ERTO's board has renewed its recommendation for the minimum salaries of office workers. The recommendation is that individual salaries and salary scales are raised from 1.5.2016 onwards by 16 euros/month.
Raise for small animal nurses on 1.5.2016
26.04.2016. The federation of Special Service and Clerical Employees ERTO's board has renewed its recommendation for the terms and conditions of veterinary stations and clinics. The recommendation is that individual salaries are raised from 1.5.2016 onwards by 16 euros/month, no less than 0,43 %. Salary scales should be raised from 1.5.2016 onwards by 16 euros/month. Women's payday 30.10.2015
The Finnish Confederation of Professionals STTK wants to underline the salary gap between men and women by celebrating women's payday. This equality issue at work has proven to be very resistant to change as the salary gap remains as wide as before. This year, the salary of women is 83,4% of that of men. According to Statistics Finland, the average salary of men on the 2nd quarter of 2015 was 3634 euros and of women, 3031 euros. These numbers are salaries for full-time working hours.
Workers gather to protest weakening of employment conditions on Friday 18.9.2015 at 11am
11.9.2015. Members of SAK, Akava and STTK unions will demonstrate on Helsinki Railway Station Square on Friday 18 September from 11 a.m. The demonstration is in defence of the labour market organisations’ right to determine collective agreements and in opposition to the government’s unilateral decisions to weaken employees’ terms of employment. On Tuesday the government announced changes including forced restrictions to annual holiday entitlement, an unpaid sick leave waiting day, turning weekday holidays into days without pay and cuts to overtime and Sunday work compensation.
